DOJ Issues Call To Ensure Access to Justice

Courthouse columns and steps Addressing the Conference of Chief Justices, Laurence Tribe, Senior Counselor for the Department Of Justice's (DOJ's) Access to Justice Initiative, challenged the chief justices of our nation's state courts to "to take up the task of improving our system." Declaring that "justice that must depend on the purse, or justice so long delayed that it is in essence denied, does not deserve the name," Prof. Tribe proposed tangible, achievable reforms, the first of which addresses juvenile justice.  OJJDP Invites Manuscripts for Upcoming Journal of Juvenile Justice

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts for consideration for publication in OJJDP's new online, peer-reviewed journal, the "Journal of Juvenile Justice" to be launched in 2011. Proposed articles may address a broad spectrum of juvenile justice-related issues, such as delinquency prevention, intervention, treatment, and juvenile victimization. Judges' Courses Offered in September

The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) will conduct two key courses for judges in September:
