Topics covered include: investigating physical abuse and neglect of children, responding to sexual victimization of children, investigating computer crimes against children, interrogating the offender, interviewing victims, investigating/preventing parental child abduction, working with serious habitual juvenile offenders, and coordinating probation/school problems. Length of program is 4-1/2 days.
Target audience: Law enforcement who serve in the role as school resource officer, school liaison officer, or who otherwise work with schools in his or her community and their educational counterpart (principal, assistant principal, and dean of students). Priority consideration is given to SRO's who plan to attend the program with their educational counterpart (principal, assistant principal, and dean of students). Maximum of 2 participants per agency. |
